As part of the ongoing redevelopment and upgrade of Let It Ride.com the Las Vegas Hilton Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge is introducing NEW technology for selecting horses and scoring the competition!

Now in our 9th year, the Challenge is fun, easy, a true test of a horseplayers's Future Book handicapping skills - and best of all it's FREE!

Prizes will be awarded to the top 100 finishers, with the top five place finshers winning three nights accommodations and other hotel amenities for two as part of the Las Vegas Hilton's 2009 Breeders' Cup VIP Package on November 5-7 at the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook in fabulous Las Vegas!

Between February 11 and April 21, Players build a "fantasy" Kentucky Derby stable of up to 14 runners based on "locking in" odds from the Kentucky Derby Future Book posted weekly by Let It Ride.com. Between April 22 and April 28, each Player must reduce his or her stable to four horses from the available pool in his or her Kentucky Derby stable. Players use their "Final Four Stable" for the 2009 Las Vegas Hilton Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge.

Points are awarded by using a multiplier for each place of finish of each horse at the odds locked-in at the time of submission (ie: 10x for 1st, 7x for 2nd, and so on as outlined in the rules). The Player who amasses the most total points with his or her Final Four Stable horses in the 2009 Kentucky Derby wins the Challenge.

In addition to accommodations and hotel amenities for the 2009 Breeders' Cup festivities at the Las Vegas Hilton, prizes include; engraved awards, branded merchandise, dinners, shows, valuable handicapping subscriptions and more!

Throughout the Challenge, Let It Ride.com Track Experts (handicappers), such as Cliff Smith and Bruno DeJulio will post their "fantasy stables" online so Players can see what the Track Experts are playing before making their selections. From April 29 until 12:00 Noon (Pacific) on May 1, a Player will be given the option to select one handicapper to play head-to-head on the Las Vegas Hilton Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge and WIN ONE FREE MONTH of handicapping selections and reports from the Track Expert they beat (valued at up to $200)!

The sooner you start building your Kentucky Derby stable, the more horses you will be able to choose from and the higher the odds you'll be able to lock-in. In this competition, big odds are the key to winning!

COMPETITION RULES AND HOW TO ENTER

1. OVERVIEW: Between February 11 and April 21, Players build a "fantasy" Kentucky Derby stable of up to 14 runners based on selecting one (1) horse in each of the first six (6) weeks through Future Book dated 18 March 2009, and two (2) horses each of the final four (4) weeks of the competition through Future Book dated 15 April 2009 and 'Locking-In' Odds from the Kentucky Derby Future Book made available on the Let It Ride.com website (posted odds are for competition purposes only). Players may enter at anytime until selections close, however as each week passes, Players will lose the opportunity to select horses. (Example: If a Player missed the first six weeks, that Player's total pool may only be 8 horses, conversely if he or she began selecting on February 11, their total pool would be 14 horses.) All selections close at 12:00 Noon (Pacific) on April 21, 2009, and based on circumstances they will close at any point after that time.

2. ALREADY REGISTERED? If you have already completed the Official Registration Form during a prior Let It Ride.com competition, you are already registered and may just login and start playing.

3. NEW PLAYERS: New Players to Let It Ride.com/LV Hilton competitions may enter the Challenge by registering for a FREE Let It Ride.com Account in its' entirety. Registration with LIR is a one-time process for all Let Ride.com/Las Vegas Hilton Challenges and is required to be eligible to win prizes at the completion of the competition.

4. PLAYER LOGIN: Players can login here.

5. SELECTING HORSES: After logging in, Players will be able to either Select horses from the current 2009 Let It Ride.com Kentucky Derby Future Book, or View their Current Stable. When selecting horses, Players simply check a HORSE with the current ODDS available from the eligible horses listed on the page.

Players will select ONE HORSE the first six (6) weeks and TWO HORSES the final four (4) weeks of the Challenge. The HORSE and the ODDS correspond to the applicable 2009 Let It Ride.com Kentucky Derby Future Book.

(NOTE: In some instances, when a horse has been injured, dies, or declared not to run in the Kentucky Derby, that horse may appear until the next weeks' Future Book is updated and posted. At which time the HORSE will appear as lined out)

6. WEEKLY SUBMISSIONS: Once a Player has submitted for a specific week it will be "time-stamped" and will appear in RED at the top the page. At midnight each Tuesday, that week will close and the selected horse will turn BLACK and be "locked out" to the Player. The HORSES and ODDS selected by the Player will be FINAL for purposes of the Challenge. It is required that Players make submissions for the current week no later than Tuesday evening (unless otherwise noted) so as not to be shut out as odds change for the upcoming week at 12:01 AM (Pacific) on Wednesday.

Players may EDIT their horse selection any time before the week closes. Time stamping will be used in a tie-breaker situation so an earlier time is better when selecting horses. The time that Final Four selections are made is not recorded, the Tie-Breaker time is based off the time that the horse was originally chosen.

Players will be able to login and View their Current Stable at any time, but they will not be able to edit or change their selections once the week has closed.

7. FINAL FOUR REDUCTION: From April 22 to 12:00 Noon (Pacific) on April 28, 2009, Players must reduce his or her stable to four horses from the available pool in his or her Kentucky Derby stable and that becomes that Players 'Final Four Stable' for the 2009 Las Vegas Hilton Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge.

8. BEAT THE TRACK EXPERT HEAD-TO-HEAD: Throughout the Challenge, the Let It Ride.com Track Experts will post their 'fantasy stables' online so Players can see what the Track Experts are playing before making their selections.

From April 29 until 11:59 PM (PT) on May 1, a Player may select a Track Expert handicapper to play head-to-head and WIN ONE FREE MONTH of handicapping selections and reports from the Track Expert they beat (valued at up to $200), as well as prizes that will soon be determined!

If a Player elects to compete in the Beat The Track Expert aspect of the Challenge, their total number of points must exceed that of the Track Expert they selected (ties lose).

As with the individual horse submissions, once a Track Expert handicapper is selected to play 'head-to-head' by a Player, that selection is locked in, so Players should remember to select wisely!

9. MISCELLANEOUS: All Contestants agree to the Other Rules and Disclaimers listed below.

POINT CALCULATION & PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

To score points, one or more of the horses in the Players' Final Four Kentucky Derby Stable MUST finish in the top five of the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

POINTS and PRIZE DISTRIBUTION are calculated based on the Official Final Order of Finish of the 2009 Kentucky Derby by any Horse from the Player's Final Four Kentucky Derby stable that finishes:

  • 1st: Ten (10) Times "Locked-In" Future Books Odds
  • 2nd: Seven (7) Times "Locked-In" Future Books Odds
  • 3rd: Five (5) times Times "Locked-In" Future Books Odds
  • 4th: Three (3) Times "Locked-In" Future Books Odds
  • 5th: One (1) Times "Locked-In" Future Books Odds

The total number of points are added together. The Player with the most points is the Winner. The Player with the second most points will have finished 2nd, and so on. In the event of a "dead heat" the affected multipliers will be combined and divided by two.

OTHER RULES AND DISCLAIMERS

The final results of the 2009 Las Vegas Hilton Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge will be posted by 5:00 PM Pacific on Sunday, May 3, 2009.

  • Only one stable per Player is allowed. Any Player who enters more than one will be disqualified.
  • Players must have registered with Let It Ride.com with a valid email address and physical address to be eligible to win any prizes.
  • Specific to the Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge, Players may submit different horses in different weeks and at different odds but will only be allowed to use any individual horse one time in their Final Four.
  • Specific to the Breeders' Cup Future Book Challenge, players may only use any individual horse one time in the same race, but may use the same horse in different races. (NOTE: Horses for the Breeders' Cup are often cross-entered into several races)
  • All players are responsible for keeping a record of entry and horses submitted, as well as the Let It Ride.com handicapper (Track Expert) they are competing against in the head-to-head competition.
  • Room nights are non-transferable.
  • Merchandise prizes will be shipped approximately 30 days following the closing date for claiming prizes.
  • All Players participate at their own risk. Let It Ride.com and the Las Vegas Hilton make no warranties or claims, and assume no liability in connection with this contest whatsoever, including but not limited to Internet outages, email problems (including time stamping and not receiving emails), and scoring disputes. Each Player in this competition holds Let It Ride.com and the Las Vegas Hilton harmless from any and all liability arising from the participation in this competition by any Player.
  • Each Player agrees that all decisions made by Let It Ride.com with regard to the Las Vegas Hilton Future Book Challenges are final, and each Player agrees that LET IT RIDE.COM WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS.
  • Let It Ride.com reserves the right to modify or add any rules so as to maintain the integrity of the competition, and all decisions by Let It Ride.com are final and binding.
  • By entering the competition, all Players understand that their email address will automatically be added to the email lists of the Las Vegas Hilton and Let It Ride.com. However, Players will receive an acknowledgement email allowing them to "opt out" of the list at anytime. In addition, the email addresses will not be sold to any third party and will only be used internally by the Las Vegas Hilton and/or Let It Ride.com and it's directly associated businesses.

TIE-BREAK PROCEDURE

TIE BREAKER: In the event of a tie in total points the following will be used as a tie breaker

  1. Did the player choose the WIN horse
  2. Did the player choose the PLACE horse
  3. Did the player choose the SHOW horse
  4. The average time AFTER the week began (Midnight Wednesday PT) that the player choose the horses in their Final Four Stable.
